Course Overview

The Working in Medium Risk Confined Spaces training course offers vital training for employers, employees, self-employed or sub-contractors who are required to work in confined spaces (A confined space is a place which is substantially enclosed, though not always entirely, and where serious injury can occur from hazardous substances or conditions within the space or nearby e.g. lack of oxygen).

Aims and Objectives

To give attendees such knowledge so as to enable them to understand the hazards associated with work in confined spaces, gas detection, escape breathing apparatus, PPE (man riding equipment) and emergency procedures prior to entering Confined Spaces.

  • Confined Space Regulations 1997 (Third Edition)

  • Potential hazards of working in confined spaces and precautionary measures

  • Risk assessment, safe system of work and permit to wor

  • Atmospheric Hazards and Gas detection methods

  • Emergency procedures

  • Personal protective equipment (man riding equipment) and escape breathing apparatus

  • Practical entry into a simulated confined space

  • Multiple choice question paper

Duration: 8 hours over 1 days (including comfort and lunch breaks)

Certification:

Essential Confined Space Training Limited approved certificate awarded upon successful completion of this course, valid for 3 years
