Safe use of an AED (Bolt On)

Course Overview

This AED training course is to be provided as a ‘Bolt on’ when another First Aid course is being delivered. The qualification is designed for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to use an AED when dealing with an emergency situation.

Aims and Objectives

The aim of the qualification is to enable Learners to attain the knowledge and competencies needed to deal with the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe use of the AED in emergency situations.

Content

  • Chain of Survival

  • Safety considerations in the use of an AED

  • Safe use of the AED including modifications for a child

Duration: 1.5 hours (not including comfort and lunch breaks)

Certification:

QA Safe Use of Automated External Defibrillator (QAR)
certificate upon completion of course, valid for 1 year.
